About the author

Douglas Seelinger

Douglas writes epic fantasy — sprawling, character-driven, and shadowed at the edges — along with other stories, across other genres, still finding their shape. The flagship is The Tulinian Chronicles, a debut fantasy series about a cooling world, its Sacred Fire gone dark, and the man called back to rekindle it.

He's drawn to many generes, but in particular to fantasy, and portal fantasy, for the oldest reason there is: the doorway. There's something honest about a character who has to learn a world the hard way and decide what it's worth — and something harder still about being called back to one. Tulinia has grown out of a story I first thought of in high school, grown out of years of notebooks, maps, and the stubborn question of what a land actually loses when something in it dies dies, and what it might cost to bring that that thing back.

Book One, Now That the Fire Has Gone, is on the way. The best way to hear when it's ready — and to follow the making of the series along the way — is the newsletter. If you'd rather just say hello, the contact page is open.
