The story

Tulinia burned once, briefly, in Scott Mosby's memory — a place he touched as a boy of fifteen and never spoke of again. Thirty years later, its Sacred Fire has gone out. In its place a rival order has taken root, warming the cold with Wildfire — a demonic counterfeit — and teaching that the old fire was never a gift, only a leash. Scott bears the Flamebearer's Mark, and with it the charge to rekindle the true Fire. He goes alone; his wife and children stay behind on Earth.
